Happy Thanksgiving from Premier Island Properties!As we breathe a sigh of relief and say goodbye to Hurricane Matthew, Hilton Head Island is coming back strong and recovering in grand style! Where "R and R" used to mean "rest and recreation", on our beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry island, we are in "rebuild and renaissance" mode! This is what's happening in our area of the Lowcountry. Hilton Head has already had a $150 million dollar renovation in the past two years, showcasing such new and beautifully designed properties as the Sea Pines Beach Club, The Plantation Club and the Shelter Cove Mall. 
Last year, prior to the internationally renowned RBC - Boeing Heritage Golf Classic, Harbour Town Yacht Basin was dredged to accommodate watercraft of all sizes and descriptions, including a 160 foot yacht from our neighbors in Palm Beach, Florida. As for ocean front hotels situated on Hilton Head's famous white sandy beaches, the Sonesta Resort underwent a $30 million dollar renovation, and the Westin spent approximately $40 million in upgrades. The Marriott and Omni have made major, multi-dollar improvements as well. 
Our real estate market is in full swing! (The storm gave us what we have talked about for years. The island needed a redux and will be fresh and clean again! ) Premier Island Properties had an open house in Sea Pines two weeks after Hurricane Matthew, and the property sold in one day! The very next day, that seller became a buyer and purchased another property on Hilton Head! We also had a number of sales in the month of October with fast turnovers. (The sales have not been contained to one specific area or price but they have been all over-on and off the island - including Bluffton.) In fact, statistics prove, as they did in Charleston, SC, after Hurricane Hugo in 1989, once the ripple effect takes place from the insurance companies and new buyers, it truly becomes a renaissance in the area. Especially after the cleanup and repairs are done, homes and businesses will be more structurally stable, with freshly painted exteriors and interiors, and new landscaping creating a fresh, new atmosphere for your return.
